G20 Summit security Delhi Airport:160 flights at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi have been cancelled. The reason for this is the G20 Summit, which will be place in Delhi from September 8 to September 10. During this time, Delhi will resemble a fortress, with unparalleled security precautions such as the 26th of January and the 15th of August. Domestic flights may be cancelled or delayed due to VVIP movement. According to reports, the Government of India has also issued an order to the airlines.
Three days of no-fly zone security
During these three days, heads of state or their representatives of almost every major country of the world will be in India. Due to security reasons, a total of 80 planes will neither take off nor return from Delhi Airport. That means there will be no takeoff and no landing. DIAL, the company operating the airport, says that keeping in mind the shortage of passengers and the strict arrangements made by the traffic police in Delhi these days, it has applied for cancellation of the journeys. Most of these air journeys are on such routes where fewer passengers travel. No flights are being cancelled on busy routes
There was a parking shortage reported.
DIAL, the firm that manages Delhi Airport, stated that enough parking arrangements had been made in preparation for the G-20 conference. DIAL has also emphasised that the recent news of flight cancellations has nothing to do with the aircraft's parking. It is worth noting that Delhi's IGI Airport is the busiest in the country. Every day, 2 lakh people travel from here. This country's largest airport has approximately 220 parking spaces. There were already complaints of parking troubles at this airport due to 50 aircraft being parked there due to Go First's internal challenges. DIAL denied this.
